Meet Your Trusted North Carolina Attorney, Rod Willcox

Rod Willcox is an attorney who has engaged in the general practice of law in Morganton, NC, since 1997. Prior to coming to Morganton, Rod practiced law in Ohio from 1989 until 1991 and in Maine from 1991 until 1997. His practice concentrates in representing debtors in consumer bankruptcy cases. He also practices in the areas of workers' compensation, municipal law, uncontested divorces, wills and estates, and guardianships.


Rod was born in 1963 in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Denison University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1986. He attended Wake Forest University School of Law and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1989. He was thereafter admitted to the Ohio, Maine and North Carolina State Bars.


Rod is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Burke County Bar Association. In addition to being admitted to the State Bars of Ohio, Maine, and North Carolina, Rod is also admitted in the United States District Court and Bankruptcy Courts for the Western, Middle, and Eastern Districts of North Carolina.


Rod gives back to his local community by serving on several boards including South Mountain Children's Home and Assure the Future Through JIRDC.

Marcy Grady

Hello. My name is Marcy Grady and I have worked as a paralegal with Attorney Willcox since 2000, and have been employed in the legal profession since 1984. Bankruptcy is the area I am most involved with at the firm. I work closely with Mr. Willcox, his clients, the Bankruptcy Trustees, and the Bankruptcy Clerks.


I also serve as Mr. Willcox’ office manager. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Gardner Webb University.  In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends, reading and I love a great beach vacation. 


Megan Parlier

Hello. My name is Megan Parlier, and I am an associate attorney at Willcox Law Firm. I began my employment with Willcox Law Firm in October of 2022. I attended Appalachian State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science: Pre-Professional Legal Studies, with honors, and two minors in History and Criminal Justice. I graduated from Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law with a Juris Doctorate in May 2020. I became a licensed member of the North Carolina State Bar in August 2020. In addition to being admitted to the North Carolina State Bar, I am also admitted to the United States District Court and Bankruptcy Courts for the Western District of North Carolina. I am a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the 25th Judicial District Bar, and the Burke County Bar Association. I am a native Morgantonian and returned to the area to be closer to my family. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family and dog, sewing, and taking trips to amusement parks.
